Number 3

#3: Rival

This one was inspired by a recent falling out with a friend whom I have liked for a very long time. We, however, had very different approaches to life that can't be worked into a working relationship from a distance: I saw him as complacent, he saw me as way too serious. I also felt that, while I tried to be the best friend that i could, he never would see me as anything more no matter how much I tried to change for the better (for myself and for him). I finally decided, probably not in the best way, to sabotage my relationship with him by drawing a line I knew he'd give up on me for. ...he also said something that cut me very deep...I wish him well and someday, despite all of this, I wish to actually meet him and come what may.
